Terms and Conditions
These are the terms and conditions for our standard hosting, maintenance and support package.
Hosting
Unless you wish otherwise, your site will be hosted with RetroWeb (www.retroweb.net). We are happy to provide support packages for domains hosted with other suppliers provided this external hosting is paid for by the client.
We reserve the right to change hosting suppliers, although we do not forsee any need to do so as RetroWeb has proven very reliable for a number of years.
You will be allocated 1000Mb per month bandwidth (download limit) and 100Mb disk space. Most personal or small business sites will come nowhere near these limits unless they are working with large video clips or huge numbers of pictures. Should you come near to these limits we will contact you to discuss options for upgrading.
You must also comply fully with the RetroWeb terms and conditions of use.
Control Panel
This package entitles you to make use of the LomondWeb Control Panel system for managing your site. Currently this provides simple features for editing pages of text, managing links collections, news boards and comments pages, and showcasing your photos through a simple gallery system.
Please contact us to discuss setting the control panel up on your site.
New features are constantly being added, and a new version with a greatly simplified interface is planned for release shortly. However no guarantees can be made as to the date of release of this new version.
Support
We will provide unlimited email-based support for any technical problems you may have with your site.
In the event of technical problems with hosting, we will liase with RetroWeb or your own hosting provider to ensure the problem is fixed as quickly as possible.
Content Maintenance
With our control panel system you can edit many areas of your website by yourself, whenever and as often as you like.
However, we will also be happy to update the content of your site for you as required. This can involve editing text, manipulating pictures, adding new pages, or any other changes you may require.
A maximum of 8 hours of maintenance work is included in this package per year. Further maintenance work will be billed per hour. However any work necessitated by technical problems will be provided free and will not be included in this limit.
We can also offer a proof-reading / spelling and grammar correction service as required.
We will set up any email addresses you require with the ending @your_domain.com.
We will also provide any support required in accessing these addresses through either Outlook Express or the RetroWeb webmail interface. We will also try to provide support for setting up other email reading programs such as Outlook or Thunderbird.
We can also set your site email addresses to forward all mail automatically to your existing email address.
Payment
This package will be invoiced yearly, in advance. Payment of each invoice is due within 30 days of issue. We can take payment by cheque or direct bank transfer. Unfortunately we are unable to accept payment by credit card at present.
Blogs
We can install any of the major blog systems on your site if required.
Spam
Spam is a major problem on the internet. You must not use any of our services to send spam (unsolicited bulk commercial email). Also, we reserve the right to take whatever steps we deem necessary to prevent your site being exploited by others trying to send spam. This should not necessitate any changes that you will notice, but if it does we will contact you to let you know what is happening.
Please note that RetroWeb has a strict spam policy that you must comply with.
Legal Stuff
We reserve the right to terminate our services to you instantly if you break these terms and conditions or are found to have been using the services for any unlawful purpose. We will co-operate fully with the police in any investigation that may arise.
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Every effort will be made to inform customers before any changes come into effect.
Adult Content
You may not use our services to host adult content. Please contact us first if you are in any doubt about content you wish to put on your website.
